Our history

In the late 1950’s Ed Moran was a talented yet starving artist who founded one of the Valley’s first sign shops on The Alameda in Santa Clara. What was called back then the Santa Clara Valley, was made up of mostly apricot orchards, a decade before assuming its current-day moniker the “Silicon Valley”.  His company served some of the first prominent tech companies at the time: IBM, HP and Fairchild Semiconductor; and developed strong relationships with the developers who built out the early valley: Trammel Crow Company, Spieker Properties and Lincoln Property Company, customers we continue to do business with to this day.

Ed’s son Danny grew up working in the family business and in 1993 took ownership, renaming the company Corporate Sign Systems. For many years, Corporate Sign Systems successfully completed some of the largest signage and EGD projects on the west coast, mostly on the ‘Build’ side of the business, through outside architects and designers. In 2016, for their love of art and design, Danny and his wife Nancy launched LUX Create, an in-house art and design studio. Their unique ‘design + build’ model resulted in creative, efficient, and value driven projects for their customers.

Today, LUX Create and Corporate Sign Systems employ some of the most talented designers and fabricators in the business. Our teams work side by side under the same roof, in collaboration with leading artists from around the world, delivering world-class branding, signage & wayfinding, EGD and private and public art projects locally, nationally, and internationally.
